Art Supplies
Art supplies may be purchased with high foresight or just
on impulse. There is no right way to go about finding the most ideal
supplies for a particular artist. All artists vary in their tastes and
styles.
For some, planning out a piece with the most time-proved painting techniques
is the way to go. Others may prefer to just experiment with art supplies
and learn the various nuances themselves. Some artists may feel that
the truest form of art is to make the most of what is available.
Art supplies are wisely purchased or found with at least some element
of caution, however. This is because many materials are surprisingly
toxic and dangerous. For instance, rags soaked in linseed oil, commonly
used for oil painting, are known to spontaneously combust in tight enclosures.
In fact, the burning of Albuquerque’s Golden West Saloon in February
of 2008 was attributed to this effect.
