Art Materials

Art materials include traditional painting and drawing materials among many newer options. In ancient times, many natural materials were used for visual works. In more recent years, digital options are pushing the definitions of both art and art supplies.

Traditional art materials came from natural sources. It is very interesting to look at painting options in particular. Their earliest forms involved found pigments from flowers and other elements of nature.

How rare these natural art materials were affected their value. Today, this still holds true for the price of paint colors. Eventually synthetic color options were developed. Many painters today do not realize that all their painting options were not possible just a few centuries ago.
